Media jumping on the bandwagon about him not playing like last seaaon - as mentioned its the shitness of the other players this season thats making him look bad! Brilliant stats fir him still just no feckin striker to turn his passes into goals. Last season we had a large portion of the side playing well, now its only Antonio and Payet who would look to for inspiration. Hardly enough posession to get free kicks for Payet around the pen area likewise with corners. 3 last night. He'll go in the summer.. big revamp of the the squad ensuing...

Apparently Payet 'liked' this tweet earlier on, but has since 'unliked' it.

Marseilles have recently been taken over by a multi billionaire baseball owner, hence the talk and why Payet suggested he might be interested in their new 'project'.

Re: Payet

Marseille have a history of big talk with the French media. I wonder if their chairman has a couple of sons on Twitter too...
Speculation that Dimitri Payet could return to Marseille from West Ham has been laughed off by Frank Leboeuf.
Former Marseille defender Frank Leboeuf says talk West Ham's Dimitri Payet is interested in a return to the Ligue 1 club is nonsense due to the money available in the Premier League. Payet moved to the Hammers from Marseille in 2015 and enjoyed a sparkling debut season in the Premier League, scoring 15 goals and contributing 17 assists across all competitions. Those performances prompted West Ham to tie him to a new deal until 2021 in February last year, but speculation has been rife the France international could leave London Stadium and return to his old former employers. However, Leboeuf, who switched to Marseille in 2001 after five years in England's top flight with Chelsea, says Payet will have "no interest" in moving back. "I do not believe it for a moment. There was the episode with Didier Drogba who never came back," Leboeuf told RMC. "We talked about Zizou [Zinedine Zidane] who would come to his dream city. He never came. No one has yet signed in Marseille. "When you're in the most prominent championship, you do not want to go back to Ligue 1. "He has no interest in coming back. It is true that unfortunately, there is only the money that counts."

All players have responsibilities on the field. It's no good being a gifted player but not doing your share of the work just because you are gifted. It defeats the object.

You'd sell the best player to have played for West Ham for 'bitching in other media'?

Re: Payet

The other teams know how dangerous he is after last season and double up on him so he get fewer chances, he's not hit the form of last year but none of the team have! While last year they were running into spaces to receive the ball this year they're hiding! (yes fucking hiding) time after time he's looking up to see who's made themselves available and there are NO options so he has to knock the ball in and hope someone gets on the end of it or try to do it all himself and gets chopped down. Poor bastard no wonder he's not been smiling much this year

This is the problem.
No matter the board, who trusts any of them to make the most of any potential money?
Within recent memory, we wasted the money for our best player by a mile (Rio) on Rigobert Song et al. 40 million for Payet? Maybe. But with owners who think Zaza is worth 25 million...what hope?

If he genuinely wants away, why keep him? His value will only diminish. That said, based on this summer, our purchasing would only result in a waste of the money...

He's beginning to age, doesn't look up for it and bitches off in other media. Get rid - £30m to £40m.

Boltkunt,
He is.producing. I say it again, the most chances created in Europe as of a few weeks ago.
It's not his fault that the useless cunts around him aren't making the most of what he does.

Difference was he was producing last year, this year he isn't.
as a team we are in a different place, and need players who are going to work for team as a whole, due to his lack of back tracking it cost us against Leicester.
Comparing a striker to a midfielder is one thing, let alone comparing anyone to arguably the best footballer to ever put on a pair of football boots ffs.

Goose,
Fucking exactly.
If Payet goes elsewhere and is utilised properly, no one will be talking about how much he closes down and tackles. And we'd be gutted.
You don't know what you've got til it's gone, etc.
